Biomedical Technologist Job in Canada

Position: Biomedical Technologist – Full Time

Location: Atlantic Region – New Brunswick or Nova Scotia

Position Summary:
Working under the Coordinator, Biomedical Services, the successful incumbent will be responsible for providing technical equipment support in various aspects of electronic and biomedical engineering. The incumbent is also responsible for providing support services on an ongoing basis for all installations, validation, inspection/preventative maintenance, performance assurance and repairs in accordance with all regulatory requirements and Canadian Blood Services policies, procedures, and practices.

Responsibilities:
i.)Responsible for the implementations and maintenance of the Biomedical Services program for the Centre.
ii.)Provides technical support and subject matter expertise for equipment implementation.
iii.)Provides preventative and demand maintenance for Biomedical and Laboratory equipment.
iv.)Supervises equipment service contracts.
v.)Consults and provides subject matter expertise in the acquisition of new equipment and related performance assurance.
vi.)Under the direction of the coordinator, is responsible for the technical writing related to the Biomedical Services Program.

Qualifications:
i.)Graduate of a recognized school or institute of technology with a two-year diploma in Electronic or Biomedical electronics Technology. Membership in the professional association of technologists an asset.
ii.)The individual must have 5 years related experience in the repairing and maintaining of blood collection/clinical laboratory equipment. Quality management and/or pharmaceutical experience an asset.
iii.)Experience with documentation equipment service record systems in a highly regulated manufacturing environment is an asset.
iv.)This individual must be reliable, accurate, have strong interpersonal and communication skills and be capable of working independently.
v.)Strong working knowledge of electrical safety codes, standard safety procedures, GMP and ISO 9000 an asset.
vi.)Ability to identify problems, recognize symptoms/causes, diagnose root causes and generate alternative solutions.

Travel is required in this position.
