Research environment
The Physiological Laboratory in Liverpool is widely recognised as an international centre for research in this area. The research groups in the department are supported by substantial external funding from a range of sources. The department has outstanding research traditions - Charles Sherrington, Richard Caton and Roderick Gregory are among its former professors.
International class scientists from other departments in the University of Liverpool also participate in the Ph.D. training programme.Close collaborations exist between the scientists and laboratories involved in the programme. The research interests of the faculty members participating in the programme can be consulted at this site (see Faculty).
