Postdoctoral Research Associates with strong experimental experience and interest in the areas of molecular imaging and therapy are sought to join the Center for Ultrasound Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics, housed at the Cardiovascular Institute, with strong collaborations with the Department of Bioengineering and McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. The Center for Ultrasound Molecular Imaging and Therapeutics is engaged and interested in both basic sciences and applied/translational investigations with a broad range of biomedical applications. The Center particularly emphasizes development of multidisciplinary and novel approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease using principles of ultrasound and acoustically active agents as molecular probes and/or therapeutic delivery agents. Highly motivated candidates with experimental background, a strong academic and publication record, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a strong commitment are invited to apply. Applicants will be expected to integrate into the Center, comprised of PhD and MD faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, undergraduate students, and technicians, and will be able to take advantage of a research community with exceptionally strong specialized and diverse expertise at the University of Pittsburgh.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have completed a PhD in or related fields, including (Applied) Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optics, Ultrasonics, or related fields with a strong experimental background and experience in the research areas of ultrasound and/or optics imaging and/or therapy. Applicants with hands-on experience in (opto) photo-acoustic experiments and image processing are highly encouraged to apply.
