Job description

In my group tools from Supramolecular Chemistry are used to engineer cell function. Cell adhesion, migration and differentiation are important for various applications such as tissue engineering. This project is in collaboration with the medical centre in Enschede and cell biologists to improve the design and performance of bio-materials. The project deals with functionalizing and synthesizing proteins and peptides with supramolecular ligands, which are used for anchoring them onto surfaces that are patterned using lithographic techniques. The surfaces and assembly will be studied with advanced probe and light microscopy.

Requirements

For this challenging project enthusiastic PhD students who like to work in a multidisciplinary team and in an international environment. Methodologies that will be used are Supramolecular chemistry, Organic chemistry, Nanotechnology, Cell biology and Probe and light microscopy.
