The phd student will be working as part of a team on projects to develop new  strategies to protect and repair the neonatal brain. His/her specific  project will focus on developing a cell-based therapy for the treatment  of neonatal ischemic brain damage and characterizing the mechanism  behind stem cell-induced repair of the brain. He/She will perform in vivo  experimental animal work and also employ in vitro culture techniques and  molecular techniques. His/her tasks will also include analysis of motoric  behavior and immunohistochemical analysis of damage and repair  processes.
