LABORATORIES

Research in Bioschool is conducted in laboratories setup by the core as well as associated faculty of the group. The various research labs available are as follows:

Biophotonics Lab :

Biophotonics laboratory is setup for study of interaction of photons with tissue function and develop noninvasive diagnosis Lab.

Cellular Engg. Lab :

Cellular Engineering Lab to conduct cellular and sub cellular research. This Lab is equiptted for cell and tissue culture as well as hybridoma research.

Biochemistry/Biophysics Lab :

De novo protein design is broadly motivated by two objectives. On the one hand, the motivation is to test the theories of protein folding. In this respect it is a useful adjunct to protein folding research. On the other hand the motivation is fundamentally creative in seeking to modify proteins beyond the limits of biological possibility.

Haemorheology Lab :

Laboratory for evaluation of blood and body fluid rheology and their clinical applications.

Image Processing Lab :

Biophotonics laboratory is setup for study of interaction of photons with tissue function and develop noninvasive diagnosis techniques.

Measurement Lab :

Computing facilities are complimented by several PC switch data acquisition cards.(National
Instruments, UFSA) and GUI development software.

Neurophysiology Lab :

Nerve and Muscle Physiology Lab has facilities for experiments on neuromuscular transmission and computational work on cellular neurophysiology.

Metabolic Engineering Lab :

We are involved in microbial degradation of poly aromatic hydrocarbons, the biochemical pathways, its genetics and the enzymes involved. the work being of potential application in bioremediation.
