Federal Pell Grant
Federal Pell Grants are determined by the Department of Education based upon demonstrated financial need and full or part-time enrollment at Cabrini College. Pell Grants may only be used toward the student's first undergraduate degree.
Federal SEOG Grant (Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant)
Federal SEOG Grants are awarded by the Financial Aid Office. Awards are determined for students through a combination of significant need as demonstrated on the FAFSA and the availability of funds. SEOG Grants are disbursed in accordance with Title IV guidelines. Students who are eligible for Federal Pell Grants are considered first for these awards.
PHEAA State Grant
Pennsylvania State Grants are awarded by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) to eligible Pennsylvania residents pursuing their first undergraduate degree. Awards are based upon demonstrated financial need and enrollment (full-time, half-time) status. Continued eligibility (up to eight semesters) is based upon academic progress, housing status, and cost of attendance. PHEAA measures academic progress based upon attempted/completed credits during an academic year (fall, spring, summer).
Cabrini Grant
This grant is determined by the Financial Aid Office based on a combination of financial need as demonstrated on the FAFSA and the availability of funds. It may also be used for students with documented special circumstances.
Cabrini College Achievement Scholarship, Achievement Grant, and Challenge Grant
These are Cabrini College academic merit awards given to eligible incoming students based on their high school GPA and SAT scores. These merit awards may also be available for incoming transfer students.
All applicants to the College are considered. Students must be registered as full-time (12 or more credits per semester). Students receiving Achievement Scholarships must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA each year to continue to be eligible. Students receiving the Achievement Grants and Challenge Grants must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA. Award amounts may be reduced for students who do not live in on-campus housing.
Cabrini Alumni Scholarship Award
The Cabrini Alumni Scholarship Award is given to a rising junior who has distinguished him or herself through service to Cabrini, has demonstrated academic excellence, and has exemplified the vision, commitment and dedication to the "education of the heart" embodied by Mother Cabrini. Eligible students are current sophomores who have completed a full year of study at Cabrini, have earned at least 60 credits, and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher. They must also meet the College's financial aid requirements as determined by the Financial Aid Office. The application for this award will be available in January.
