An ANR funded post-doctoral position is available in the "Intracellular Signal Relay and Integration" group (A. Sobel). The laboratory is part of the Institut du Fer à Moulin (http://www.u839.idf.inserm.fr/), devoted to Research in the Neurosciences, and located in the heart of Paris, at the center of a dense research and health institutes network.
The group is interested in the specific roles and modes of action of the various stathmin family proteins in the control of neuronal cell differentiation and plasticity. Stathmins are tubulin binding microtubule regulating phosphoproteins with specific neural expressions and subcellular localizations. We have shown recently that they are involved in the control of axon and dendritic morphogenesis in distinct ways. The post-doctoral project will hence concern the characterization of common and distinctive biological roles and modes of action of Stathmin family phosphoproteins in the context of the control of neuronal differentiation and plasticity. It may involve a combination of biochemical, molecular and cell biology, imaging and KO characterization approaches.
The position is available for at least 2 years, and is open to French and foreign applicants.
Please send a cover letter and CV with names of two references to andre.sobel@inserm.fr
