The Biomedical Engineering Department at Virginia Commonwealth University invites applications from qualified candidates for tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for Fall 2010. Faculty candidates should have a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a related discipline. Candidates are expected to teach courses in the program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels; to interact with faculty in Biomedical Engineering, medicine, and engineering; and to develop and conduct externally funded biomedical research. Current areas of interest include topics related to biomechanics, biomaterials, biomedical instrumentation, and biomedical signal processing.
Biomedical Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University offers the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees and collaborates closely with clinicians and biomedical scientists on the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) campus of the university in downtown Richmond, Virginia. The MCV campus is the nation’s fourth largest medical academic campus.
