Description:
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the City University of New York (CCNY campus) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Neural Engineering. The research focuses on the effects of electrical stimulation on human brain function for therapeutic and performance enhancing purposes. The work is closely coupled with development of a new medical device for electro-therapy. This is a collaborative research project between the labs of Lucas C. Parra, Marom Bikson (CCNY) and Eric M. Wassermann (NIH). The work will be performed at CCNY in New York City and the National Institute of Neurological Disorder and Stroke in Bethesda. The experimental work involves non-invasive electrical stimulation and EEG recordings in healthy volunteers.
Qualifications:
They can envision two types of candidates, those with experience in performing human subject experiments and/or psychophysics, or those with a strong quantitative and signal analysis background. Anticipated starting date is 1/1/2010. The position is supported by a 18 month grant from the DARPA Accelerated Learning Program. Please send your CV to parra@ccny.cuny.edu.
