Ribonomics - Post Doctoral Position (Swiss)

A postdoctoral position is available in the group of Dr. André Gerber (Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences) to explore the roles of RNA-binding proteins and miRNAs for the regulation of germ-cell apoptosis. The Postdoc will apply and is expected to further develop procedures to globally map RNA-protein interactions in human cells and worms by combining latest genomic (e.g. DNA microarrays, deep sequencing) and proteomic tools with classical biochemical, genetic and cell-biology methods (e.g. purify RNA-protein complexes, generation and analysis of transgenic strains).

The project is part of a well-founded collaborative project between five research groups, which are located at the ETH Zurich and the Universities of Zurich and Basel. Therefore, some time of the project may also be spent in the labs of the collaborators providing a unique opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary setting.

We are seeking an excellent and highly motivated scientist with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, molecular biology or related field and knowledge in bioinformatics/computational biology. For further information on the group and our institute more generally, please refer to our website: http://www.pharma.ethz.ch/institute_groups/pharmacogenomics/research_gerber
http://gerber.openwetware.org/.

Starting date: immediately or upon agreement. For further questions, please contact Dr. André Gerber, andre.gerber@pharma.ethz.ch (no applications under this E-Mail please).

Please apply on-line at www.jobs.ethz.ch or send a cover letter including Curriculum Vitae and names of 3 references with the keyword CONI2433 to ETH Zürich, Human Resources, Corina Niescher, CH-8092 Zürich.
